Quality Accommodation in the Brecon Beacons
Guests have exclusive use of this magnificent seven-bedroom Georgian Farmhouse
The first thing that you will notice is the amount of space. You will enjoy our large rooms – and a lot of them. These have been equipped and furnished to a high standard: we want our guests to feel totally relaxed, very comfortable, and rather spoilt.
Accommodation in detail:
The entrance hall leads through to the huge farmhouse kitchen with flagstone floor.
This is the heart of the home and is always cosy because of the four-oven Aga. A large wooden dining table seats 12 with ease and there are comfortable chairs for those who want to talk to the cooks or watch the television.
Welsh dressers contain all the glasses, crockery, pots and pans, and kitchen utensils that you are likely to need. Leading from the kitchen is the dairy which is always cool and is ideal for storing food and drink. There is also a large American fridge freezer located here.
The back kitchen houses another sink, dishwasher, electric cooker, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a clothes airer and it is the perfect space for keeping walking or cycling kit. Please use our extensive range of information specifically for cyclists and walkers in a display here.
To the rear of the back kitchen there is a downstairs shower room and toilet.
Approached from the hallway there is a wonderful conservatory enjoying lovely views of the gardens. From it one can walk out to a decked outside seating area.
We offer two spacious lounges. There is a large sitting room with comfortable sofas, TV/DVD, and an impressive stone fireplace with wood burning stove.
Opposite is the morning room, another extensive but cosy sitting room. There is another large fireplace with wood burner and you will find a CD player, books and jigsaws.
The fine oak staircase leads to the first of the seven bedrooms in the house.
On the first floor, the Cosy Room (a double) is next to the family bathroom. Up a couple of steps and you will find the second bedroom, a smartly decorated single bedroom to the front. The third bedroom is aptly named The Red Room and has a king sized bed – as well as a three piece suite! Opposite is the fourth bedroom, The Turquoise Room, which is another double. And at the rear of the house is the Four Poster Room – as its name suggests it has a magnificent king-sized, four poster bed!
A modern bathroom separates these two bedrooms.
A further staircase leads to the second floor. The huge double bedroom here has an ensuite bathroom, and a spare ‘put-you-up’ bed, making it an ideal family room. At the other side of the landing is a twin-bedded room, which again has its own bathroom.
There is central heating and logs are available free of charge for the wood-burning stoves.
Outside there are extensive lawned gardens with attractive trees and shrubs. A small stream runs through the garden.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Gilestone and there is superb dog walking from the front door.
